Arpege by Lanvin was originally released in 1927 by Jeanne Lanvin and dedicated it to her daughter Marguerite: the story of a mothers' love for her child. This maternal love is represented by the perfume's emblem: a woman and child. This emblem later became the symbol of Lanvin. Arpege was reconstructed (whilst remaining mostly well preserved) in 1993. Universal, Arpege has naturally become a classic, a mythical perfume. It is for women passionate about beauty and love, elegance and luxury. It is a superb and luxurious floral bouquet composed of jasmine, rose, ylang ylang, tuberose, and lily-of-the-valley warmed by spices such as clove and coriander. The endnote delivers a woody vanilla finish. Arpege was the first female perfume to contain such a large amount of sandalwood and it became a fragrance that defined many. Arpege maintains its position as one of the defining fragrances for women.
